Buyers should have the experience to install it. 3 You will need two 12V batteries (not included), or one 24V battery. When connected together, they have a recommended capacity of more than 12AH and a continuous discharge current of more than 20A. 4 We do not provide a battery box. However, you can mount it on the rear shelf above the rear wheels or even build a battery box (some DIY skills are required). 5 Please allow the slight color difference caused by shooting light and the slight manual measurement error, and make sure you do not mind before ordering.
INSTALLATION & USER GUIDE
STEP 1: Installing the Freewheel
1. First, flip the bike over and remove the rear wheel. Depending on the situation, shift the axle 0.5 cm toward the freewheel or replace it with an extended axle.
2. Remove the threaded ring and screw it into the bike’s original freewheel . Then tighten the reduction freewheelonto the threaded ring to connect them together (note: both freewheels must be threaded in the same direction). An extra iron ring is included in the kit, but it is generally not needed — use it based on your specific conversion.
3. Install the 2 chains (one is the bike’s original chain, the other is the motor chain) and mount the wheel back onto the frame.
4. Adjust the pedal sprocket. Remove the bike’s fender, disassemble the pedal axle, push the entire pedal assembly all the way to the right, then reinstall and tighten. (This step can be skipped.)
5. Secure everything in place. (After tightening, there should be about 2 mm of clearance between the freewheel and the bike’s rear triangle — do not let the freewheel touch the frame.)
STEP 2: Installing the Motor
1. Remove the motor and motor bracket, and mount the motor onto the bracket (do not tighten too much—leave room for adjustment).
2. After putting on the chain, push the straight plate of the motor bracket against the bike’s rear triangle, sliding it up and to the right until the chain is tight. Lightly secure it using the clamp ring and screws. Note: The clamp ring has pre-drilled threads for convenience, but when tightening, always add a nut and a spring washer for extra security.
3. Carefully adjust the motor position so that the motor sprocket and the reduction freewheel are on the same plane. The motor plate has oversized screw holes to fit different bike models — with careful adjustment, proper alignment can usually be achieved.
4. Tighten the motor bracket and motor securely.
STEP 3: Testing & Adjustment
1. Turn on the ignition switch. Lift the rear wheel off the ground so the bike is vertical and stable. Slowly twist the throttle and check that the motor and drive system run smoothly (some noise is normal due to free spinning—ignore it). Check that the brakes engage properly.
2. If the chain falls off, it means the motor was not installed correctly — the sprocket alignment is off or the chain is too loose. Turn off the ignition switch, then carefully inspect and adjust as needed. Test ride to confirm the system works properly.
